Understanding Activities
Field updates that document what your team did.
Activities are the field updates that document what your team did during a reporting period: a training, a distribution, a monitoring visit, a meeting.
Activity vs logframe activity
The logframe describes planned activities as part of the results framework. Activities in the Activities tab are the records of what actually happened, with dates, places, participants and narrative.
What you record
- Activity title, date, reporting period and location
- Summary
- Participants: total, female, male, children, and participants with disability
- Achievements, challenges, lessons learned and next steps
- Linked evidence (files that prove it happened)
Statuses
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Draft | Saved, not submitted. |
| Submitted | Waiting for review. |
| Needs revision | Sent back with a note. |
| Accepted | Confirmed. |
| Rejected | Not accepted (note required). |
How activities feed reports
The AI Reporter uses submitted activities for the period: narratives, participant numbers, challenges and lessons learned support the matching sections, and linked evidence is cited as a source. Your activity text is also what Tell the Story builds on.
Compliance
The checklist flags late activity updates and activities without supporting evidence.
Tips
- Log regularly, not just at report time.
- Be specific: "Trained 20 CHWs on ANC screening", not "Training".
- Include numbers and places.
- Attach evidence.
- Be honest about challenges; donors value learning.
