How to Record a Change of Plan
Write down what changed, why, and what it did to the results.
When something changes, write down what changed, why, and what it does to the results. A change written this way can be explained in the report and checked against it.
When to record one
Record a change when an activity moves, is dropped or replaced, when a target or method changes, or when a delay affects results. Record it when you decide it, not at the end of the year.
Record it
- Open the project and go to Reports → Changes of plan.
- Under Record a change, fill in:
- Day it changed: the date the change was made or took effect.
- What changed: one or two sentences, for example "Moved borehole drilling to the dry season".
- Why: the reason, for example "Access roads were flooded".
- Effect on results (optional): for example "Two water points slip to the next quarter".
- Indicator it touches and Report it belongs to (optional).
- Select Record the change.
The newest change is at the top of the log. Each entry shows its date, what changed, why, its effect and its links.
Good to know
- The indicator and report links must belong to this project.
- A correction changes only what you edit. Clearing the effect or a link empties it.
- A dated change can be cited when a report statement about the change is checked.
- Changes are kept in the audit trail, including the text before an edit.
