How to Ask a Question About a Project
Ask in plain words; each sentence of the answer cites its records.
Ask DonorDesk answers a question from your project's own records and shows where each sentence comes from.
Before you start
- Your organisation's administrator must turn Ask DonorDesk on: Settings → Ask DonorDesk → Allow Ask DonorDesk in this organisation. It is off until then.
- You need to be able to see the project.
Ask
- Open the project and choose Ask.
- Type your question in Your question (up to 500 characters), or choose one of the examples.
- Choose Ask.
Read the answer
- Each sentence is followed by the records it rests on: an indicator, an activity, an evidence file, or the project itself. A label such as "not yet verified" means the value is still a draft.
- What the records do not tell lists what is missing. If nothing in the records answers the question, you see "The project's records do not answer this question."
- The line at the bottom says how much was looked at and how many sentences were left out. A sentence is left out when it names no record, or quotes a figure the record does not contain.
What is read and what is sent
Indicator values, accepted activity records and the text of evidence you are allowed to open. Finance is not read. Names, e-mail addresses and phone numbers are removed before the question and records are sent to the AI service. Nothing is sent until you ask.
Limits
Your organisation can ask 60 questions an hour and 400 a day. Asking is not recorded with the question's text, only its length.
