How to Check an Infographic Before You Publish It

The Design check: what blocks publishing and what only warns.

The Check tab reads your design against the rules that donors and reviewers look for, and lists what needs fixing in plain words.

Read the list

Each finding names the block it is about. Click a finding to go to that block.

  • Something to fix stops the design from being published until it is cleared. Examples: a map with no legend, a chart whose axis does not start at zero, a photo without a consent note, a donor submission with a block that has no source.
  • Worth a look does not stop publishing, but a reviewer may ask about it. Examples: a title that is only "Infographic", more than three themes, a chart with too many lines to read.

If the list says Every check passes, the design is ready to publish.

Waive a finding

Sometimes a finding is correct for your situation. Click Publish anyway, with a reason under the finding, type why it is acceptable (for example "the map is for internal use only"), then click Waive for this design. The button stays disabled until you type a reason. The reason stays with the design and is recorded in the audit trail.

Sources and figures

A donor submission needs a source line on every block that shows figures. Write where the information comes from (for example "Partner reports, September 2026"). If a figure does not match the latest approved report, the check says so.

Next: approve and publish it.
