How to Make an Infographic

Start a one-page design from a template; it stores layout, never data.

An infographic is a one-page (or multi-page) picture of your results. Every figure in it comes from your project's records, so you do not type numbers into it.

Start one

  1. Open the project and go to Infographics.
  2. Click New infographic.
  3. Choose a template. Each one suits a different use: a humanitarian snapshot, a response at a glance, a funding snapshot, a donor one-pager, a social card and others. A template is only a starting point; you can change every block.

Build it

  • Click a block in the list, or click it on the page, to edit it.
  • Use Undo and Redo (Ctrl+Z and Ctrl+Shift+Z) while you work.
  • Drag a block to move it. Its width is set in the block's own panel.
  • A block with no reported data says Not yet reported or Not measured. It never shows a 0 in place of a missing value.

Choose the page

  • Format: A4, A3, square, portrait 4:5, story 9:16, slide 16:9 or a 3:1 web banner. Pick the format before you lay out the blocks, because the page changes shape.
  • Theme: five built-in themes, including a high-contrast theme and a greyscale theme that prints well. If your organisation has a brand kit, its theme is also offered.
  • Language: English, French, Spanish or Arabic. Arabic is set right to left. Maps and charts keep their direction.

Save and look again

Your design saves as you work. The Design panel has the Size, Theme and Language of the fixed words settings. The preview on the right is drawn by the same code that makes the published file, so what you see is what you publish.

Next: check the design before you publish it.
